Both Turoa and Whakapapa are open today. Cloud cover is lowering light but visibility is 1000- unlimited. Cloud is forecast to burn off during the day. At present the SW is pushing more cloud on Turoa than Whakapapa. Lets hope the sun does its thing and clears the sky.

Turoa is shut for the day due to storm strong to gale force North westerly and very poor visibility.snow showers are forecast in the afternoon.

Turoa will open at 9.00am. At present it is unlimited with light southeasterlies over the whole mountain. Conditions underfoot are spring like. It will be hard at first and release from the base upward during the day.General snow release should occur around midday. A new rail line is been place beside the XL kickers. Be carefull to pay attention to drop in speeds to XL kickers by the afternoon, the spring form snow gets very slow by 2pm. Remember your sunscreen and have a great day.
Whakapapa will open at 8.30am. All facilities will be operational. Conditions underfoot are spring like,firm at first softening to spring snow during the day, release will occur around midday. Run of the day will be the valley t-bar, the park is up and running again with kickers and rails to pick from. Be carefull of spring release affecting drop in speeds on kickers. Its another blue bird day on Turoa. Unlimited visibility with a very light Northwest. All facilities will be up and operational around 9.00am. Conditions underfoot are spring like, the snow pack will be firm in the morning releasing to spring snow over the whole hill by midday. Release will occur from the bottom upward. Run of the day is the Whynots, this blue trail is full of bumps humps and drops for the middle level snowboarder and skier to push some progression out of the park. Its going to great day, remember your sun screen.
Whakapapa will open at 8.30am. All facilities will be operational today. Conditions underfoot are spring like, it will be firm in the morning releasing from the base area upwards. General release should occur by midday. The park is looking good so check it out beside the valley T-bar. For the middle level rider the most fun will be riding the water fall express, As it is a little lower down than the T-barts it will get snow release quicker and the chair ride up will give your legs some time to recover.
